Family Matinee 

Family Matinee by Open Cinema Belfast is an inclusive, free, monthly cinema for all families in our city. Each month come to 101 Donegall Street — a beautiful, old venue in the Cathedral Quarter — for a family-friendly screening of a children’s movie. Arrive early for fun crafts and games before the movie begins.

  • Once a month on a Saturday, 2 -4pm

  • Suitable for children of all ages.

  • Free café for the parents.

  • All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Open Cinema Belfast began in 2015 as a weekly cinema for people who found themselves homeless or living on the streets. Brought here by Daniel Saunders, Open Cinema Belfast is a franchise of Open Cinema - the international, award-winning network of community cinemas across Europe. Today Open Cinema Belfast runs Family Matinee an inclusive, free, monthly cinema for all families including refugees, those seeking asylum and local families from all walks of life.

Open Cinema Belfast/Family Matinee is hosted by Redeemer Central at 101 Donegall Street, Belfast.
