The Long Table

Community & food with room for everyone

Every Friday 6-7pm at 101 Donegall Street, Belfast

Recently we have been dreaming about ways to serve the local community near our beautiful building on Donegall Street and do something in response to the cost of living crisis we find ourselves in. Through a series of conversations and connections both within the community and outside it the idea of The Long Table was birthed.

What is The Long Table?

Each Friday evening (6-7pm) we serve a free nutritious meal in the heart of Belfast City Centre.  Our mission is to be a welcoming, safe space for everyone on the streets of Belfast and in our neighbouring communities. A small team of volunteers prepares the meal (both vegan/meat options available) and any surplus food will be available to anyone who wishes to take it home.

Everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you.

Our heart is that as a team we will prepare the food and then eat together with our guests and build relationships and community. We hope to serve people well and offer a warm welcoming space and enjoy sacred times together over food and at our long tables. To get involved or find out more speak to Stephanie Wilson or John Herron or email thelongtable@redeemercentral.com

We are excited for what is to come and full of big ideas but for now we intend to do small things with great love.
— The Long Table Team

Our hope is to be a church that is welcoming to all, with lots of space at the table created for people in our city to come and find a place. As a church we continue to explore what the event of the Kingdom of God looks like —the mad hatters tea party, a divine interruption, advent-ful surprise, the hospitality of Christ, the open invitation to the table.
