GLOBAL – What’s going on across the world?

Day 1 - The Big Picture

As we reflect on climate change, we think it can be healthy to keep in mind the big picture and try to grasp what is happening with a global perspective. This can save us from slipping into despair on the one hand and apathy on the other – while we in N. Ireland likely be spared from some of the most immediate and devastating impacts of climate change, developing countries – and many of the places who have contributed the least to the problem - across the world are in real danger.

Prayer

Jesus,

You never turned away from suffering but sought out and attended to those who were suffering the most. Help us to follow your example and take the time to witness the suffering of those affected by climate change over the next few days. May our compassion and our hearts be stirred for those most vulnerable to the changes ahead. Thank you that you are close to vulnerable and may you provide for them what they need in your mercy.

Amen
