New Season of Dinners

〰️ Coming Autumn 2026 〰️ New Season of Dinners

Dinners

the primary focal practice of the human race is a meal
— Albert Borgmann

Dinners are informal gatherings that give a bit more space to connect beyond Sundays. They have no agenda other than to get people together for connection… Good food, good conversation, and new relationships are the  priority.

The Table Practice of Jesus

When we look at the life of Jesus, we see him again and again gathered around tables, sharing a meal with anyone who would join him. He modelled a table practice of radical inclusion.

As a Jesus-community, we want to follow his example, opening up our tables to one another and whoever would like to join us with the simple aim to provide a safe place for connection, belonging and meaningful relationship.

We do this knowing that each time we come together something sacred happens—we encounter grace, and we are changed, never quite the same as when we arrived.

Who hosts Dinners?

Dinners are hosted by members of the Redeemer community, and they take many different shapes and flavours. Some are “dinners in”—where a host opens their home and cooks a meal to share. Others are “dinners out”—where a group meets at a restaurant or pub to enjoy good food and conversation together.

Each dinner has its own style and theme: a potluck, taco night, BBQ, make-your-own pizza evening, vegan feast, or even a relaxed wine-and-dessert night. However it looks, the heart is the same—sharing food, stories, and connection around the table.
