During this time of COVID-19 one question keeps coming up — "What sort of people will we be coming out of this?"

At Redeemer Central we are a Jesus community. We love Jesus and are seeking for live lives formed in his way of being in the world. Over the past year we have felt led to establish a culture of prayer in our community that would both root us deeply in the love of Christ (intimacy) and fuel our mission to love and serve our city (action). During this pandemic there is a sense that God’s spirit is leading us to use this time to develop the practice of prayer and come through this unique season as a more prayerful people. To help guide we are running The Prayer Course as an accessible place to start learning about prayer and begin that journey.

The aim of this journey is to equip & empower us to be a prayerful people — rooted deeply in the love of God and compelled to love and serve our neighbour

The Prayer Course

The Prayer Course is a free resource created by 24-7 Prayer. Led by Pete Greig, 24-7 Prayer began as one simple prayer meeting in 1999, and is now an “international, interdenominational movement reviving the church.

What is The Prayer Course?

The Prayer Course is an eight-week journey through the Lord’s Prayer — that will help us individually and as a community to grow and deepen our prayer lives.

Jesus taught his disciples how to pray and we will spend eight-weeks exploring the Lord’s Prayer to learn and catalyse our prayer lives that we may be a people of depth, presence, peace and communion with God.

“To clasp the hands in prayer is the beginning of an uprising against the disorder of the world.”

Karl Barth

To pray is to dream in league with God, to envision His holy visions.”
