Ask your electricity supplier if they have an eco-tariff you can join - Suppliers such as power NI have an eco-option where you can ask to source the equivalent of your electricity consumption from local renewable generators at no extra cost. This will help to reduce the demand for fossil fuels and you will be playing an important part in helping to protect our environment. If your supplier doesn’t do this, you could also sign up with bright energy who provide 100% renewable energy to customers in N. Ireland.
I’m also sneaking in transport here as we have nowhere else to put it - Transport coughs out about a quarter of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions. It's also a major source of air pollution – linked to 36,000 early deaths a year in the UK. Consider rationing the number of flights you take a year, take the train more or walk or cycle if the journey is less than 5 miles. If you need a car and can afford it, maybe look at buying electric
